Interested in being part of the Public Health Review Group?

The PHRG aims to work closely with public health practitioners, policy makers and researchers, to ensure the work of this entity reflects the evidence needs of those responsible for planning, delivery and funding public health initiatives. We therefore value your input on any matters of relevance, including suggestions for topics for review, comments on reviews in progress or completed, requests for training related to doing or using systematic reviews, and any pother matters of relevance

Our contributions to The Cochrane Library and other databases relies on individuals motivated, trained and prepared to conduct systematic reviews in effectiveness of public health interventions. It also takes people willing to partake in the peer-review process for these reviews.
Whilst some of these tasks are undertaken on a voluntary basis, or as part of academic pursuits, funders dedicated to supporting best evidence in health promotion and public health are often called upon to provide resources to ensure projects are carried out.

Become a Cochrane review author
If you would like to learn about what is involved in producing a Cochrane review, The Cochrane Reviewers Handbook outlines the methods and requirements of a Cochrane review. This handbook is a good start to give the reviewer an idea of the amount of work involved in a Cochrane review but could be heavy going for a newcomer! Workshops are offered by several Cochrane Centres throughout the world. Go to www.cochrane.org/cochrane/workshop.htm for dates, but contact your nearest Centre (see below) for futher details.
