Knowledge Translation

Cochrane defines knowledge translation (KT) as the process of supporting the use of health evidence from our high quality, trusted Cochrane Reviews by those who need it to make health decisions.

To support KT, CPH has developed a Disseminations Plan to help your author team to start thinking about and planning your content and strategies for dissemination of review findings. This should be completed early on in the review process as part of the protocol development - see Resources for Review Authors page.

Review Advisory Group guidance is also available if you are considering setting up an advisory group to inform the parameters of your Cochrane protocol. Cochrane provides a learning resource to support authors getting people involved in the production of their reviews. More related KT resources are available on this right-hand panel.

To ensure CPH reviews are relevant and useful to decision-makers we have developed a KT work plan outlining priorities for activity across the following areas :

  • Producing reviews that have high stakeholder/end-user demand
  • Supporting co-production (end-user involvement throughout the review process)
  • Ensuring reviews are accessible and used in decision-making
  • Establishing and maintain successful partnerships with key end-user stakeholders
  • Assessing the impact of KT strategies
